This year, DukeEngage students have the privilege of working with two community partners who both serve youth who are homeless in San Francisco: Larkin Street Youth Center and At The Crossroads. We are immensely thankful to Larkin Street and ATC for the incredible opportunity and thoughtful mentorship they are providing to our group this summer. We are also forever grateful to the University of San Francisco for providing us housing and welcoming us into the USF community! Read on for more information on each of our partners.
Larkin Street Youth Services (http://larkinstreetyouth.org/)
Mission: The mission of Larkin Street Youth Services is to create a continuum of services that inspires youth to move beyond the street. We will nurture potential, promote dignity, and support bold steps by all.
At The Crossroads (https://atthecrossroads.org/)
Mission: The mission of At The Crossroads is to reach out to homeless youth and young adults at their point of need, and work with them to build healthy and fulfilling lives. Our innovative model focuses on young people who do not access traditional services and are disconnected from any type of consistent support. We remove common barriers to service by bringing our counselors onto the streets and shaping our support services around the needs of each individual client.
